Judo Matsu is a registered club with the Judo Federation of Australia. Our passion for the art of judo and teaching our students the universal lessons of respect, courage, and discipline is at the heart of every class.

Adults Judo

Our kids and teens program strives to make self-defence and fitness fun. We have a Kids (5-10 years old) and Youth (11-17 years old) class that will help them train at an appropriate level.

Kids/Youth Judo

Private training is a great way to fast-pace your judo understanding. It is also great if your schedule does not allow you to make regular class sessions or you feel you have some specific needs that may not be met during regular class sessions.

Oren, Yvonne and the extended Judo Matsu team have been great at welcoming and teaching all newcomers. They are always responsive, flexible and adaptive with training which makes judo very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

As an adult beginner the thought of doing judo can be quite daunting - however my experience at Judo Matsu has been nothing short of amazing.Coach Oren, Yvonne, Giullaume and the team are all excellent teachers, the students are all welcoming and there is a great vibe.The classes are great, and I've also done a couple of PT sessions with Coach Oren and have found them really helpful.If you're on the fence, just come and give it a goI cant recommend Judo Matsu enough

Oren (sensei) and the Judo Matsu club is a great learning environment for all. Everyone is supportive and learning, making barriers to entry all but gone.I started at the beginning of 2021, and it's really made a profound impact on me. Oren's class format, teachings and exercises really hone in on a good balance of physical capability (coordination and well-rounded strength), technique and discipline. His small stories and tips on diets, particular exercises and philosophy really make it not just a lesson in Judo, but on things applicable to many aspects of life and all for the better. :-)

If you have a daughter, this is the perfect place for them to learn Judo. Whilst martial arts is generally skewed towards males, Judo Matsu has got the mix right. In the kids lessons, it is an even 50/50 split between girls and boys.Oren and Yvonne are both fantastic coaches. Even though my daughter is quite timid, she loves attending Judo so thank you Judo Matsu.100% recommend this school

I've been training at Judo Matsu for ~8months and classes are a highlight of my week, every week.Having trained in Chinese Martial Arts previously, which can be quite stuffy and regimented - I find Oren manages to present fresh physical and mental challenges each class, and is attentive and inclusive to each students needs and abilities.Also, as someone who has also spent a good part of life struggling with my weight and mental health issues - training at Judo Matsu has had a profound positive impact on both those areas.Thanks for welcoming me to the club and sport, Oren and Yvonne!

My son (age 7) is in his second term with Oren and Yvonne at Judo Matsu and he loves it. The classes have a lovely feel to them - very friendly and welcoming but with the necessary structure and discipline that the kids respond well to. My son has been to a few trial classes at various martial arts places but he was never sure if he wanted to go back. At Judo Matsu, he took to the classes like a duck to water. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Oren and Yvonne! Awesome.

My daughter enjoys the classes which are structured in a very inclusive way. There are opportunities to spar with kids of varying experience and abilities. Kids can turn up and have fun socially while learning judo, or take it further and work competitively toward a goal. The teacher not only teaches the principles of judo movements but also self-respect, respect for others, general tidiness, and discipline which are key to doing well in judo competitively.Thanks Oren for your school and doing a great job with the kids classes.
