judo matsu club st peters - no-gi judo class

No Gi Judo is Judo training without the gi, using clinch control, body positioning, and adapted grips to make throws and transitions work in a faster, more slippery setting.

It’s a fun, challenging class that builds real-world grappling ability, improves athleticism, and complements both traditional gi Judo and other sports (like BJJ, wrestling, and MMA).

Who it’s for

This class is for:

  • Adults who want a different style of Judo (less grip-fighting on sleeves/collars, more body control)
  • Judo players who want to sharpen timing, movement, and reactions
  • Anyone cross-training for BJJ / MMA / wrestling, or just wanting a hard, skill-based workout

Beginners are welcome – we scale the training to your level.

What to expect in class

Sessions typically include:

  • Warm-ups and movement prep
  • Clinch entries and no-gi gripping concepts

  • Controlled rounds/situational sparring (depending on the focus and experience in the room)
